Vatra Dornei Ski Slopes and Chairlift
The ski area of Vatra Dornei has four alpine runs and one cross-country trail. The longest is Dealu Negru, about 3,200 m long, served by a two-seat chairlift that climbs in 20-25 minutes from Strada Negrești up Dealu Negru and also runs in summer.

The ski runs of Vatra Dornei lie on the northern slope of Dealu Negru, south of the town, and in the park in the centre of the resort. Dealu Negru (about 1,300 m) is part of the rim of the Călimani Mountains that closes the Dorna Depression to the south.
The Dealu Negru run, also called "Telescaun", is about 3,200 m long with a vertical drop of about 400 m, of medium difficulty, and has snowmaking. It is served by a chairlift with two-seat chairs, starting on Strada Negrești, about 3,000 m long, with a ride of 20-25 minutes. The chairlift also runs in the warm season for walks on Dealu Negru.
In the centre of the resort, next to the park, is the Parc run (about 900 m, with a drop of about 150 m), which has floodlighting, snow cannons and a drag lift, plus a snowtubing track and a beginners' lift. It continues into the Poienița run (Parc 2, 550 m, for beginners) and the Veverița run (780 m, 200 m drop), opened in 2011, with floodlighting and a drag lift.
The Dealu Runc trail, about 5,000 m long, is used for cross-country skiing and starts from the top of the Veverița run. Every winter the „Serbările Zăpezii” festival, with concerts and winter sports contests, is held at the foot of the Parc run.
