The ski slopes at Băișoara are located in the Muntele Băișorii resort, in the Munții Gilău, Cluj County, at altitudes ranging from approximately 1,200 m to 1,630 m. The complex features several runs of varying difficulty levels — easy, intermediate, and advanced — with a total length of approximately 8 km of certified pistes. The ski season is generally active between December and March, depending on weather conditions, and the resort benefits from artificial snowmaking installations to compensate for periods of insufficient snowfall. The infrastructure includes several chairlifts and surface tows, as well as equipment rental facilities and ski schools for beginners. The Muntele Băișorii resort underwent significant development starting in the 1970s, when the first cable transport installations were built, and has since become one of the main winter sports destinations in Transilvania. The high altitude ensures relatively stable snow conditions compared to other resorts in the region. Access from the city of Cluj-Napoca is via DJ 107I, over a distance of approximately 60 km, with the road remaining passable in winter conditions. The area also offers hiking and mountain biking trails during the warmer months. It is worth visiting for the variety of its runs, which cater to all skill levels, and for its direct accessibility from Cluj-Napoca, the region's main urban centre.
