On a 7-kilometre stretch of the old Sibiu-Agnita narrow-gauge railway, between Cornățel and Hosman stations, volunteers of the Prietenii Mocăniței association run tourist trips with historic trains. The line, opened between 1898 and 1910 and closed in 2001, is a historic monument.

The Hârtibaciu valley „mocăniță” runs on a restored stretch of the Sibiu-Agnita narrow-gauge railway (760 mm gauge), between Cornățel station, in Roșia commune, and Hosman station, in Nocrich commune. Trains leave from Cornățel station, about 18 kilometres from Sibiu on the Sibiu-Agnita county road. The line was built by the Sighișoara-Sibiu Local Railways Company: the Sighișoara-Agnita section was completed at the end of 1898, and in 1910 the line was extended to Sibiu, together with the Cornățel-Vurpăr branch. The Sighișoara-Agnita section closed in 1965, the Vurpăr branch in the 1990s, and the last train on the Sibiu-Agnita line ran on 1 September 2001. On 26 September 2010, at the centenary of the Sibiu-Agnita section, volunteers of the Prietenii Mocăniței („Friends of the Narrow-Gauge Railway”) association put a train back on the rails nine years after the closure, and they have since maintained and restored the track, buildings and rolling stock. So far the volunteers have reopened the 7 kilometres between Cornățel and Hosman. Regular trips use a diesel locomotive with closed and open carriages, on a 14-kilometre return route that takes about 90 minutes, and some themed trips are announced in advance. The route crosses a protected bird area, and the association is working to extend the line by another 6 kilometres, to Cașolț. The Sibiu-Agnita-Sighișoara narrow-gauge railway, with the Cornățel-Vurpăr branch, is a historic monument, LMI code SB-II-a-B-20923 (the section in Sibiu County). Trips are run by the Prietenii Mocăniței association, a volunteer organisation, and seats are booked on the association's website.
