Podu Iloaiei Reservoir

Podu Iloaiei Reservoir lies on the Bahluieț, a right tributary of the Bahlui, about 2.5 km upstream of the confluence of the two rivers and about 400 m upstream of the town of Podu Iloaiei, Iași County. The lake stretches for about 4 km along the valley, west of the town. The dam is 14.1 m high and 640 m long, and the water surface covers about 251 ha, according to a study published in 2021. The reservoir has a total volume of 37.82 million m³, of which 27.2 million m³ is reserved for flood attenuation. It is state public property, managed by the Prut-Bârlad Water Basin Administration. The lake was built to regulate the flow of the Bahluieț and is used for fish farming and irrigation. It is fed mainly by the Bahluieț, with additional water from snowmelt and springs.
