Duruitoarea Waterfall
Duruitoarea Waterfall lies on the Rupturi stream in the Ceahlău Massif and drops 25 m in two steps. It is a nature monument within Ceahlău National Park, and it can be reached from the Durău resort in about two hours on marked trails.

Duruitoarea Waterfall lies in the Ceahlău Massif, in the valley of the Rupturi stream, in Ceahlău commune, Neamț County, at an altitude of over 1,200 m. The water falls from a height of 25 m in two steps separated by a ledge. Its name comes from the rumbling sound of the falling water, which can be heard from a distance.
The Rupturi stream rises on the Ceahlău plateau, at Fântâna Rece, at about 1,750 m, and flows into Pârâul lui Martin, a tributary of the Slatina. Once the Slatina joins the Durău stream, the combined watercourse is called the Schit, which crosses Ceahlău village and flows into Lake Izvorul Muntelui.
The waterfall is a protected area of national interest, a nature monument (IUCN category III) covering 1 ha, designated under Law no. 5/2000. It lies in the integral protection zone of Ceahlău National Park, managed by the Ceahlău National Park Administration, which reports to the Neamț County Council.
Three marked trails lead to the waterfall, and the walk from Durău takes about two hours. The red-cross trail (Durău, Poiana Viezuri, Cascada Duruitoarea, Polița cu Ariniș, Piciorul Șchiop, Cabana Dochia) is 7.5 km long and takes 4.5 to 5 hours to Cabana Dochia; in winter the park administration advises against the section between the waterfall and Cabana Dochia. A second trail from Durău, marked with a blue cross, climbs along the Rupturi valley.
